“Elizabeth is so thoughtful with the journey everyone is on with learning Spanish. As an instructor, she is gentle and consistent. As a facilitator of travel for language learning and culture, she is thoughtful about making sure the experiences connect you to the people. This was not just a Spanish language trip. “I’m proud of how confident I felt about making mistakes with locals. In my past I have been absolutely terrified to speak Spanish with native speakers, but I learned new phrases, new uses, and pushed myself to apply what I learned in class when adventuring out.”

FAQs:

I’m a beginner in Spanish. Will I be able to keep up?

A foundation in Spanish is required to participate, and travelers should come ready to participate in an immersion experience. However, even if you’re a beginner Spanish speaker, there’s so much you can gain from the program. There will be moments that you don’t understand everything that’s happening—and that’s okay! It’s part of the learning process. We recommend practicing common phrases and useful vocabulary ahead of time. Fluency is not expected, as this program is designed to help you grow your Spanish skills. What matters most is your willingness to try, step out of your comfort zone, and speak Spanish as much as possible.

I’m an intermediate or advanced Spanish speaker. Is this program a good fit?

Yes! Learners of all levels are able to practice their language skills on these programs. Intermediate and advanced speakers will find plenty of opportunities to deepen their skills through engaging classes and meaningful conversations with locals. We recommend that you actively pursue opportunities to challenge yourself. For example, ask lots of questions! Creating conversation with our guides and language teachers is the perfect opportunity for an extra push to expand vocabulary, build confidence, and practice in-person communication.

Who will be the guides & language teachers during the program?

We intentionally partner with local Spanish teachers and guides in each destination to lead the classes, tours, and cultural activities included in our itineraries. Their experience, insight, and expertise are vital to providing an authentic experience and helping you build a deeper connection to the language and local community.

How many people are in each group?

We travel in small groups of 5-10 participants.

Hotel: Is it shared or private accommodation?

Accommodations are typically private rooms in hotels (we do not stay in hostels)—you’ll have your own room and bathroom unless you request to share with a friend or partner. See specific program for details.

Do you offer payment plans?

A deposit is required to enroll in the program. Each program offers its own payment schedule, allowing you to pay in installments up until departure. There is no additional cost for paying in installments. See specific program for more details.

What happens if the trip doesn’t meet the minimum number of participants?

If a trip is canceled due to low enrollment, you will receive a 100% refund on your deposit. We do not recommend purchasing international airfare until the trip has been officially confirmed.

I’ve never traveled abroad before — is this a good option for a first-time traveler?

Yes! Our programs are designed to be welcoming and supportive for travelers of all experience levels, including first-timers. Traveling with a small group of fellow language learners and having local guides and program leaders by your side helps make your experience safe, enjoyable, and enriching. It’s a fantastic way to build confidence in both travel and language skills in a friendly, immersive setting.

I’m traveling solo — will I feel comfortable joining a group?

Many of our participants join the program solo, and we strive to create a welcoming, supportive environment where everyone feels part of the group. You’ll connect with fellow Spanish learners who share your passion for language, culture, and travel. Before the trip, you’ll have a Spanish class with the program leader and join a virtual group meeting—both great opportunities to meet other participants and start building connections ahead of your journey.

Is this a tour or a class?

It’s a little of both. This is a language immersion experience designed for adult Spanish learners. You’ll take Spanish classes with local teachers, but you’ll also explore the destination through guided tours, group activities, and everyday interactions—all in Spanish. These programs are an intentional blend of learning, travel, and connection designed to help you practice Spanish in real-life situations while discovering the local culture.

How are the Spanish classes structured?

This varies by itinerary. Some programs include private one-on-one Spanish classes with local teachers, while others offer group classes. The format often depends on the number of Spanish classes included in the program—when there are fewer class sessions included in an itinerary, we do our best to provide private instruction to maximize your learning. The format for individual classes (whether private or group) can vary depending on the local language school and even your specific language teacher. Please refer to the specific program details for more information.

Will I have opportunities to practice speaking outside the classroom?

Absolutely! These programs are designed for real-world language use. We encourage staying in Spanish as much as possible—even when chatting with fellow language learners in the group. You’ll have many chances to practice: with local guides, in restaurants and markets, during cultural activities, and throughout your free time. The goal is to build confidence by using Spanish in meaningful, everyday situations.

Will I have free time to explore on my own?

Yes! Each program includes a mix of structured group activities and free time so you can explore at your own pace. Whether you want to relax, try a new restaurant, visit a local shop, or simply wander the streets, there’s built-in space to do so. We believe that independent exploration is an important part of language learning and cultural immersion.

I still have questions — can I talk to someone first?
