¡Bienvenidos! My name is Elizabeth, and I’m the face behind the language immersion programs and Spanish & English classes with The Language Traveler (formerly Clases Con Elizabeth). Read on to learn about the life experiences that led to offering language and cultural immersion travel programs and professional development courses for educators looking to further their language skills to connect with students and families.
THE BEGINNING
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to learn languages and travel. My first experience abroad was a six-month stay in Lima, Peru that pushed my language skills to the next level and gave me the boost I needed towards fluency. I haven’t stopped making travel plans since.
I continued studying Spanish, French, and linguistics. Diving into the word of linguistics has helped me speak more naturally in other languages and has informed my teaching practices in both English and Spanish.
SECOND & THIRD EXPERIENCES ABROAD
I moved to Spain to teach English for a year before returning to Lima, where I worked at a travel agency organizing itineraries throughout Peru: Cusco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, Arequipa, and more. Soon after, I began teaching English in the Lima metro area, which solidified my interest in education and teaching languages.

MY WORK IN EDUCATION IN THE US
After returning to the United States, I began working in public education. I interpret between English & Spanish in the school environment and support English-language learners as they navigate the school system. My students and their families are primarily from Spanish-speaking countries throughout Latin America. It’s been a joy and an honor to work with young people during their transition to the United States and to support their personal and educational goals.
SPANISH & ESL PROGRAMS COORDINATOR
As a Spanish Programs Coordinator, I managed language immersion programs for Spanish teachers and their students to Costa Rica, Spain, Argentina, and Peru, collaborating with educators to design travel itineraries. During this time, I had the opportunity to lead student trips, supporting participants’ language and cultural immersion experience. I’ve also been an Education Programs Coordinator for adult ESL classes and designed curriculum, delivered classroom instruction, and mentored fellow language teachers.

CLASES CON ELIZABETH

In 2020, I began teaching online and offered Spanish & English classes for adult learners and developed curriculum for levels 0-4. Currently, I’m offering 15-minute Spanish/English conversation checkins and professional development courses at schools (upon request, limited availability) for educators looking to develop their language skills.
SPANISH IMMERSION TRAVEL PROGRAMS
The travel immersion programs are a mix of my experiences as a language teacher, language learner, educator, personal traveler, and group travel coordinator. I am excited to share my enthusiasm for language learning, cultural immersion, and my years of teaching and travel experience with those looking to take their Spanish skills to the next level through a travel and immersion experience.
¿QUÉ ESPERAS? ¡VAMOS DE VIAJE!

IN THE FUTURE:
What’s on the horizon? Here are my ideas for the future! Someday I hope to offer:
- Scholarships to make travel accessible to a wider audience
- Immersion programs specifically for Hispanic/Latino travelers who are learning Spanish: an opportunity to travel in community with those with similar experiences
- Travel programs to more destinations!
What else would you like to see? Let’s brainstorm the possibilities together. ♡
